Sub Ohm Vape Kit or Sub Ohm Pod?

What a sub ohm pod kit needs: a coil below 1.0 ohm, wattage above 40W and thick high VG liquid

A sub ohm vape kit used to mean a box mod with a glass tank. A sub ohm pod kit does the same job with a plastic pod that clicks on top, so it is smaller, harder to break and cheaper. What makes it sub ohm is the coil: anything under 1.0 ohm, usually a mesh coil between 0.15 and 0.6, driven at 40W or more so it can vaporise thick, high VG liquid in a direct to lung draw.

Choose by battery and power. High VG liquid, usually a 70/30 shortfill with a nic shot at 3mg or 6mg. Nic salts and 50/50 liquids are too thin and too strong for a sub ohm coil and will taste harsh.

Not as a first kit if you are switching from cigarettes. The draw is direct to lung and the nicotine is low, which feels very different from smoking. Start with an MTL pod kit and move here once you want more vapour.

One to two weeks. Sub ohm coils work harder and drink more liquid than MTL coils, so prime each new one for five minutes and keep the pod topped up to stretch its life.
