ZYN is a brand of tobacco-free nicotine pouches, and globally the biggest-selling one there is. Each small white pouch delivers nicotine through the gum, with nothing to light, charge or exhale. It launched in Sweden, where pouches largely replaced smoking, and is now the benchmark the rest of the category is measured against.
Place one pouch between your upper lip and gum, slightly to one side, and leave it there. You will feel a tingle for the first few minutes as the release starts; that is normal and fades. After 20 to 40 minutes, take it out and use the tin lid compartment until you reach a bin. Do not chew or swallow it.
They are not risk-free: nicotine is addictive, raises heart rate and should be avoided entirely if you are pregnant or have heart conditions. That said, pouches contain no tobacco and involve no combustion or inhalation, which places them among the lowest-risk ways to use nicotine. If you do not already use nicotine, do not start with pouches.
Line up the arrow on the lid with the tin, then press and twist. The child-resistant catch confuses everyone the first time; once aligned it opens with almost no force. The small compartment in the lid is for used pouches.
A pouch releases nicotine for up to about 40 minutes, with the strongest effect in the first ten. Most users are done at the half-hour mark. A tin of 20 lasts a typical user two to three days, which makes ZYN one of the cheapest ways to run a nicotine habit.
Both are tobacco-free pouches from major manufacturers, and quality control is excellent on each. ZYN leans crisper and drier with the Mini format as its signature; VELO runs sweeter flavours and a wider strength ladder up to 17mg. Regular pouch users usually keep a tin of each.
