Which coil should I use with 50/50 e-liquid?

Anything from 1.0 ohm upward. That resistance keeps the draw tight, runs at low power and suits the thinner 50/50 blend. A 0.8 ohm coil still works but gives a looser pull and slightly more vapour. Drop below 0.6 ohm and the liquid is too thin for the coil, so you get spitback and a harsh hit.

Can I use a shortfill in one of these tanks?

Most shortfills are 70% VG, which is too thick for a 1.0 ohm coil and leads to dry hits. If you want a bigger bottle, look for shortfills sold at 50% VG, or move to a sub ohm tank with coils under 0.6 ohm. In a tight MTL tank, stick with 10ml bottles.
