How a Built-In Coil Pod Works
Inside every pod on this page is a small mesh coil wrapped in cotton, fixed permanently in the base. The pod holds up to 2ml of liquid, the UK legal limit, and feeds it to the cotton through wicking ports. When the coil wears out, which shows as fading flavour or a slight burnt edge after one to three weeks, you replace the pod as a unit and the fresh coil comes with it.
The trade off is straightforward. A replaceable coil pod lets you change a £2 coil head and keep the plastic pod, so it is cheaper per change. A built-in pod costs a little more each time but there is nothing to unscrew, no chance of a cross threaded coil and no leaking seal to reseat. For most people switching from cigarettes, that simplicity is worth the difference, which is why the XROS and Xlim families have become the default first refillable kits.

Getting the Most From Each Pod
Pod life comes down to three habits. Fill a new pod, then leave it standing for five minutes before the first puff so the cotton is soaked through; a dry first draw scorches the coil and the taste never recovers. Keep the liquid above the bottom of the pod window, because a pod run empty burns in seconds. And stick to liquids the coil is made for: nic salts and 50/50 blends in these MTL pods, not thick 70/30 shortfills.
Most kits here offer more than one pod resistance. The Vaporesso XROS 3 Mini and XROS Mini run at 5 to 15 watts for the tightest draw, while the XROS 5 and XROS Pro 2 reach 30 watts for a looser pull. The VooPoo Argus G3 Mini and Argus Z2 sit in the same 5 to 30 watt band on 1350mAh and 1500mAh batteries. Choose the higher resistance pod for nic salts and the lower one if you like a bit more vapour.

Which Kit Fits Your Day
Smallest and simplest
Vaporesso XROS 3 Mini or XROS Mini, 1000mAh, 5 to 15 watts. Draw activated, pocket sized, and the pods that started the category.
More battery
XROS 5 at 1500mAh, XROS 6 at 1800mAh or the XROS Pro 2 at 2000mAh. Same pods, a full day and more between charges.
A bit more power
OXVA Xlim C at 8 to 22 watts or Aspire Gotek Nano up to 20 watts. Both open up to a restricted direct to lung draw when you want it.
Built-In Coil Pod Kits FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a built-in coil pod last?
Typically one to three weeks. Fruit and menthol liquids at a steady pace get the longer end; sweet dessert liquids and chain vaping the shorter end. Priming a fresh pod for five minutes before the first puff makes more difference than anything else.
Can I refill a built-in coil pod?
Yes, that is the whole point. Every pod here is refillable through a side or bottom port and holds up to 2ml. You refill it many times and only throw the pod away when the sealed coil inside wears out.
Is a built-in coil pod kit cheaper to run than a replaceable coil one?
Slightly dearer per coil change, because you replace the plastic pod as well as the coil, but far cheaper than prefilled pods and a fraction of the cost of smoking. If you want the lowest possible running cost, look at kits with replaceable coil heads instead.
Which liquid should I use?
Nic salts or 50/50 liquid in 10ml bottles. The coils in these pods sit at MTL resistances and wick thin liquids well. Thick 70/30 shortfills will run the cotton dry and give burnt hits.
