Prefilled Pod Kits
A prefilled pod kit pairs a small rechargeable battery with a sealed pod that clicks straight in. There is nothing to fill and nothing to measure. When the pod runs dry you drop in a fresh one and carry on. Most are draw-activated, so you inhale exactly as you did with a disposable, with no button to press. Kits like the RELX Maxgo Pro, Hyola Ultra 30K and Solo Bar 30K sit here, reaching 20,000 to 50,000 puffs across their pods.
Big Puff Pod Kits
Big puff kits are built to look and feel like the large disposables people got used to, but the battery recharges and the pods swap out, which keeps them within the rules. They are the easiest switch if you want the familiar shape and a high puff count, and most sit alongside our wider pod kits range.
The strongest names here are Hayati, whose Pro Ultra twin-tank devices dominated the format, and Pyne Pod, whose Click system swaps magnetic prefilled pods in seconds. Once you own the device, spare prefilled pods are the only recurring cost.
Shop by Puff Count
Puff count is the quickest way to narrow the range down. The advertised figures are lab maximums, but they are consistent between devices, so they work well for comparing. Every tier links to the kits currently in stock.

Refillable Pod Kits
A refillable kit works the same way, except you top the pod up yourself from a bottle of e-liquid. Bottled liquid costs a fraction of prefilled pods per millilitre, and you are not tied to one brand’s flavour list, so the whole e-liquid range is open to you. Refilling takes a few seconds and quickly becomes routine. Over time this is the cheapest option to run.
Which Alternative Is Right For You?
If you want the simplest possible switch, choose a prefilled or big puff kit and keep buying pods. If you want the lowest running cost and the widest flavour choice, choose a refillable kit and a bottle of nic salt. Either way you keep the device instead of binning it, which is easier on your wallet and produces far less waste than a single-use vape.
Disposable Vape Alternatives FAQ
Are disposable vapes banned in the UK?
Yes. Selling single-use disposable vapes has been illegal in the UK since 1 June 2025. Rechargeable kits with replaceable or refillable pods remain fully legal.
What can I use instead of a disposable?
A prefilled pod kit is the closest match: a rechargeable battery with a sealed, click-in pod and the same draw-activated feel. Big puff kits keep the familiar shape, and refillable kits cost the least to run.
Are these cheaper than disposables?
In most cases, yes. A prefilled pod usually costs less than a disposable for the same puffs, and refilling from a bottle is cheaper still. The battery is a one-off cost you reuse for months.
Do I have to press a button?
On most kits, no. The devices here are largely draw-activated, so you inhale and they fire, just like a disposable.
How accurate are the advertised puff counts?
They come from machine testing with short, light puffs, so treat them as a ceiling. Real-world use with longer draws typically lands at half to two-thirds of the headline number. Compare devices by their advertised figures, but budget on the conservative side.
What should I do with my old disposables?
They contain lithium batteries, so never put them in household bins. Vape shops, larger supermarkets and council recycling centres all take them as electrical waste, and many of our couriers accept them at drop-off points too.
Do the pods fit between brands?
No. Each brand’s prefilled pods only fit its own devices, and often only one model. Check the exact device name before ordering spares; our replacement pods section lists compatibility in every product title.
