The short answer
In our 4 November 2026 price check, three Vape Forest pen-style kits cost £11.99 to £13.99 before delivery and separately bought liquid. A Go S kit plus one example 10ml bottle totals £15.48 before delivery. Ongoing cost depends on the liquid and replacement coils, pods or tanks you use; the worked consumables example below totals £13.45 for an illustrative month.
Key points
- Compare the full first basket, including separately purchased liquid and delivery.
- Check whether the recurring purchase is a coil, a pod or a whole tank, and whether the price is per item or per pack.
- A monthly example is a calculation with stated assumptions, not a prediction of your consumption.
- Vaping Products Duty is already in force; do not automatically add it again to a displayed retail price.
The kit price is only the first part of the calculation. For an existing adult vaper comparing refillable devices, a useful budget also identifies the replacement unit, what the box already includes and the amount of liquid actually used. The figures here are specific shop examples, with assumptions shown so you can replace them with your own.
Current vape pen kit price examples
| Comparison point | Price checked | Included consumables and stock |
|---|---|---|
| Joyetech eGo Slim | £11.99 | Includes an eRoll Slim pod. In stock. |
| Innokin Go S Pen | £12.99 | Includes two Go S tanks. In stock. |
| Innokin Go Z Pen | £13.99 | Includes a Go Z tank and a 1.6 ohm Z-Coil. In stock. |
Important context: Vape Forest listed prices and availability checked on 4 November 2026. These are three examples, not a whole-market price range. Delivery and separately bought liquid are excluded.
What will your first order actually cost?
The prices above come from the current Joyetech eGo Slim, Innokin Go S Pen and Innokin Go Z Pen listings. A kit includes its stated hardware, but do not assume that e-liquid, spare consumables or a mains power adapter are included unless the contents list says so.
For a concrete example, the Go S kit at £12.99 plus one 10ml Jucce Candy Mango Sours bottle at £2.49 gives a £15.48 first basket before delivery or optional extras. This is a price illustration, not a nicotine-strength recommendation. Check the chosen liquid and strength against the device instructions and your own requirements.
That Go S kit lists two tanks in the box. They are already included in the kit price, so charging yourself again for two replacement tanks would overstate the first-order cost. Add delivery as quoted at checkout; do not assume a free-delivery threshold or discount.
Will you replace a coil, a pod or the whole tank?
This is the main recurring hardware difference. The Go S tank has a built-in coil, so its replacement unit is the complete tank. The Go Z uses a replaceable Z-Coil, while the tank can remain in use when serviceable. The eGo Slim listing uses an eRoll Slim replacement pod.
Innokin’s Go S specification describes its refillable tank, while the Go Z specification identifies the supplied 1.6 ohm Z-Coil. Match the exact device and resistance recommendation rather than assuming every similarly named coil or pod fits.
The word disposable in a replacement tank name describes a consumable component. It should not be confused with a prohibited single-use battery-and-liquid vape. What matters is the design of the complete reusable system.

Replacement and liquid prices checked
| Comparison point | Listed price | Buying unit and availability |
|---|---|---|
| Innokin Go S replacement tank | £2.99 | One complete tank; in stock. |
| Innokin Zenith replacement coils | £10.99 | Pack of five; out of stock when checked. |
| Jucce Candy Mango Sours nicotine salt | £2.49 | One 10ml bottle; available strengths vary. |
Important context: Snapshot checked on 4 November 2026. Confirm the exact compatible option and stock before relying on a replacement price.
Check pack size and replacement stock
The Go S replacement tank listing is priced per tank. The Zenith replacement coil listing is priced per pack of five and was out of stock when checked. A kit being available does not guarantee that its preferred replacement coil is available at the same time.
A £10.99 five-pack averages about £2.20 per coil, but you pay £10.99 when buying the pack. Do not compare that pack price directly with a single £2.99 tank without accounting for the quantity. Do not substitute a different resistance just because it is available.
An illustrative month of Go S consumables
| Comparison point | Calculation | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Three 10ml bottles of the £2.49 example liquid | 3 × £2.49 | £7.47 |
| Two replacement Go S tanks | 2 × £2.99 | £5.98 |
| Consumables subtotal | £7.47 + £5.98 | £13.45 |
Important context: Illustration only, using the checked prices. It assumes 30ml of liquid and two tanks in a month; it does not predict your use or tank lifespan. The kit, delivery and electricity are excluded.
Why your monthly cost can be different
Liquid consumption and replacement frequency drive the result. The example is not a claim that every Go S user needs two tanks or 30ml each month. Your actual use, liquid, device settings and component condition may give a different figure.
Use your own recent consumption and purchase records for a budget. Count items already included in the kit or left over from a previous order before adding another pack to the basket. Follow the device guidance for replacing worn components rather than stretching a burnt or damaged one to meet a budget.
Money paid this month is different from supplies used
Cash spending is what you pay for complete bottles, packs and orders during the month. The cost of supplies used is the value of the liquid and components actually consumed during that period. These figures differ when some of a pack remains for later.
For example, a five-coil pack is purchased as a whole. Using fewer than five coils does not reduce the amount paid at checkout; the unused coils remain for another month. Conversely, using supplies bought earlier can mean a low-spend month even though vaping still consumes liquid and components.
For a household spending budget, track actual payments. For comparing running costs between devices, track consumables used over the same period and state whether you include the initial kit, delivery and electricity.

Build your own vape pen cost calculation
List the first-order items
Add the kit, any liquid and any required equipment not included in the box. Add checkout delivery and subtract only discounts that actually apply.
Identify the replacement unit
Check whether the device uses a separate coil, complete pod or complete tank. Record the price, pack quantity, exact compatibility and current stock.
Estimate from your own usage
Multiply bottles used by the bottle price, then add the cost of the coils, pods or tanks used over the same period. Keep purchase totals separate if packs last across months.
Recheck when prices change
Update the calculation from current listings and your actual replacement pattern. Keep the initial kit separate unless you deliberately spread its cost across a stated period.
How does Vaping Products Duty affect the cost?
Vaping Products Duty took effect on 1 October 2026. HMRC states a rate of £2.20 per 10ml of vaping liquid, applying whether or not it contains nicotine. The duty is accounted for in the supply chain; how businesses pass the cost on to customers is a commercial decision.
Do not automatically add £2.20 to a bottle’s displayed retail price. That price may already reflect the duty, while eligible older stock can still be sold during the transition ending 31 March 2027. The transition guidance requires valid duty stamps on all retail vaping products from 1 April 2027.
The prices in this article are a dated retail snapshot, not a promise that they will stay the same throughout the transition. Use the amount actually shown for your selected item and the final checkout total.
Can you still compare these with disposable vape prices?
Historic single-use vape prices are not a current UK shopping baseline. The business sales and supply ban on single-use vapes began on 1 June 2025 and includes nicotine-free devices. Compare systems that can lawfully be sold now, including the refills they require.
For the difference between complete device formats, see our vape pen, pod kit and disposable comparison. If you already own a refillable pen, the vape pen filling and setup guide explains the practical checks before using it.
Vape pen cost questions
How much is a vape pen without e-liquid?
The three Vape Forest kit examples checked on 4 November 2026 were £11.99, £12.99 and £13.99. These are specific listed products, not a market-wide price range; check each box contents list and delivery separately.
How much does a vape pen cost per month?
There is no fixed monthly figure. In the stated Go S example, three £2.49 bottles and two £2.99 tanks total £13.45 in consumables. Your consumption, replacement pattern and current prices may be different.
Are coils cheaper than replacement tanks?
Compare the exact compatible item, buying quantity and how many you actually use. A five-coil pack and a single tank have different checkout prices and may last for different periods. A lower unit price alone does not establish the cheaper system.
Is e-liquid included in a vape pen kit?
Do not assume it is. Check the exact kit contents. The first-basket example here buys the liquid separately and counts the two included Go S tanks only once.
Is nicotine-free liquid exempt from Vaping Products Duty?
No. HMRC states that the duty applies to vaping liquids with and without nicotine. Use the displayed retail price rather than adding the duty a second time.
