The short answer
Yes, both the original Hayati Pro Ultra and the Pro Ultra Plus are rechargeable. The Plus is listed with USB-C charging and compatible replacement packs. But rechargeable does not automatically mean legal to sell: since 1 June 2025, a single-use vape cannot be sold or supplied by a UK business. The exact model must satisfy the reusable-device test and the other applicable product rules.
Key points
- Charging restores battery power; it does not replenish e-liquid or replace a worn coil.
- A reusable vape needs a rechargeable battery, refillable liquid system and replaceable coil where one is present.
- Compatible prefilled replacement pods can qualify; the user need not open a sealed pod.
- Model identity, notification, packaging and other product requirements still need checking.
The original Pro Ultra and Pro Ultra Plus have similar names but different liquid-replacement arrangements. This guide separates the practical charging question from the UK sales rules, using manufacturer information and official guidance checked on 4 November 2026.
Original Pro Ultra vs Pro Ultra Plus
| Comparison point | Original Pro Ultra | Pro Ultra Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Rechargeable battery | Yes. Hayati advertises side charging. | Yes. The listed kit has an 850mAh battery and USB-C charging. |
| Liquid replacement | Original disposable format. Do not assume Plus packs fit. | Replace the compatible prefilled pod and refill pack, retaining the battery device. |
| What matters for UK sale | Rechargeability does not make a single-use model legal to sell. | Reusable design must be accompanied by compliant, available refills and the other applicable requirements. |
Important context: The comparison identifies the models and design. It is not certification of an individual device, flavour or batch.
How do you charge the Hayati Pro Ultra Plus?
The Vape Forest Pro Ultra Plus kit record specifies USB-C charging. Hayati’s Plus specification lists an 850mAh battery. For the original Pro Ultra, Hayati separately advertises side charging.
Charging replenishes the battery. It does not refill e-liquid, repair a worn coil or turn a single-use product into a reusable one. If the Plus liquid pack is empty, use the correct replacement pack rather than repeatedly charging the battery.
Follow the instructions supplied with the exact device for the power supply and charge indicator. We have not verified a universal full-charge time or LED sequence for every Pro Ultra version, so neither should be guessed from a similar-looking model.
A practical charging check
Identify and inspect the device
Confirm the exact model, locate its charging port and check the device, cable and connector for damage. Do not charge a wet or damaged device.
Use the specified charging equipment
Follow the device instructions and use the supplied or manufacturer-specified compatible equipment. A plug that fits is not a substitute for checking those instructions.
Stay nearby while it charges
Keep the device uncovered and in view. Do not charge while asleep or leave it charging unattended. Disconnect it once its own instructions indicate the charge is complete.
Stop if the battery behaves abnormally
Stop using a battery that becomes unusually hot, bulges or hisses. Do not attempt to open or repair it. Use a suitable electrical recycling or vape take-back point for disposal.
Why charging instructions matter
The London Fire Brigade’s vaping safety advice identifies batteries and charging as key fire risks. It advises against unattended or overnight charging, covering batteries while they charge, and continuing to use an abnormally hot or damaged battery. These are general precautions, not evidence that a particular model has been independently safety-tested.
What do the UK single-use vape ban rules require?
Since 1 June 2025, businesses across the UK have been prohibited from selling or supplying single-use vapes. The rule covers both nicotine-containing and nicotine-free devices. The government’s reusable-vape guidance requires more than a rechargeable battery.
A reusable vape needs a rechargeable battery, a refillable liquid container and, where it has a coil, a coil the user can replace. The coil may be changed separately or as part of a removable replacement pod or cartridge. Compatible refills must be available separately.
A charging socket therefore answers only one part of the test. A device that can be recharged but cannot be refilled or have its coil replaced still falls on the single-use side of the rules.

Can sealed prefilled pods count as refillable?
Yes. The reusable-device guidance allows replacement prefilled pods or cartridges. The user does not have to pour bottled liquid into an open tank if the device accepts a compliant replacement system with a replaceable coil.
The listed Pro Ultra Plus replacement packs are designed for the Plus battery unit. Our Plus pod replacement guide explains which parts are replaced. This is different from breaking open a sealed container or trying to fit a Plus pack to the original Pro Ultra.
So, is the Hayati Pro Ultra legal in the UK?
The name alone is not enough to answer that. The original Pro Ultra is described in Hayati’s disposable range. Recharging it does not exempt a single-use version from the sales ban. The Plus is listed as a reusable system with separately sold replacement packs, which addresses the reusable-design requirement.
Reusable design is only part of compliance. The MHRA consumer-product rules also cover nicotine strength, container sizes, packaging and notification. For nicotine products they include a 20mg/ml concentration limit, a 2ml tank or pod limit and a 10ml limit for nicotine refill bottles.
A large puff count does not, by itself, prove a device is prohibited or compliant. Check how its liquid is contained and supplied. This guide does not certify a particular batch or claim that an individual flavour has been checked against the MHRA notification record.
What should you check on an actual pack?
Match the full model name, the nicotine marking and the compatible refill name. Ask the retailer to identify the relevant MHRA notification for the nicotine product, and use the publication list linked from the official guidance to check the exact product. Notification should not be described as a general medical approval.
Liquid-containing products also have duty-stamp requirements. HMRC’s transition guidance requires stamps on vaping products manufactured in, or imported into, the UK from 1 October 2026. Eligible older stock can still be sold during the transition ending 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027, all retail vaping products within the scheme must carry the required stamp. An unstamped pack during the transition needs its stock history checked; the absence of a stamp alone is not the complete test.
Hayati Pro Ultra charging and UK law questions
Does rechargeable mean legal to sell?
No. The device must also meet the refillable and replaceable-coil requirements and the other applicable product rules. A charging port alone does not make a single-use vape reusable.
Are nicotine-free disposable vapes exempt from the ban?
No. The UK single-use sales and supply ban includes nicotine-free devices.
Can I use Plus replacement pods in the original Pro Ultra?
The checked replacement pack is specified for the Pro Ultra Plus. Do not assume compatibility with the original device because both names include Pro Ultra.
How long does the Pro Ultra Plus take to charge?
Use the instructions for the exact device. We have not verified a single charging-time specification that applies to all versions, and do not give a guessed time.
Can I leave it charging overnight?
No. London Fire Brigade advises against overnight or unattended charging. Disconnect the device once charging is complete according to its instructions.
Did the ban make owning an old disposable vape illegal?
The cited single-use rules concern businesses selling or supplying these products. They should not be described as a blanket ban on personal ownership. Dispose of used devices through an appropriate take-back or electrical recycling service.
